I'm finally back from the ridiculous Las Vegas and Southern California heat and in the cool, foggy Sunset.

Westercon report and so forth.

DAMMIT!!

I went in to my new employer today to fill out all the paperwork (and boy, there was a lot!).
We (me and the other 12 new guys) got a tour of the office, were shown the timeclock and how it works
(it's a hand reader! Holy biometrics, Batman!), and got our parking validated.
I drove homeward and stopped at Del Taco for my one meal of the day.
While there, I got a phone call from work.
The project I was slated to be put on was placed on hold.
I'm not starting tomorrow.
I'm on hold until they call me and tell me the project is back on track.

In the immortal words of Darkman, "YOU HAVE GOT TO BE SHITTING ME!"

So now, I wait until I get a call. I was told it wouldn't be more than a week.
I will continue job-hunting.
The cool place I interviewed at a couple of weeks ago, which is called Genex by the way, has still
not gotten back to me with a "yay" or "nay". I e-mailed the guy yesterday, and no reply so far.

A few minutes ago, gizmoelf came by to visit for a bit.
He went to Anime Expo over the weekend and apparently picked up a little something for me.

I picked up a small star on my windshield a couple months ago... It hasn't grown into a crack and it's on the passenger side, so I have been ignoring it.

Last weekend I picked up another star just left of center toward the bottom of the windshield... and it's growing.

This morning, it was about 10 inches across, so I called my insurance and filed a claim.

The windshield repair people will come to my office tomorrow and replace it here. That's nice and convenient.

First: Good lord this heat! Jesus I wish I was back in the bay area
for that 74 degee weather... global warming FTL!

Second: I am starting to get into Facebook more then My Space.. well actually I think My Space kinda sucks and you really feel like you are in the internets ghetto. The one quirk I don't care for is the applications, but at least you can get rid of them. What is awesome is finding people you used to talk to back in the day. Jesus! I thought a lot of them drop off the face of the earth! Good to see them and talk about the old times. haha

Third: So after hearing how well AX was this year besides the gloom and doom about the anime industry. I am actually considering going, but mostly for the 20th anniversary and that it would be in 2012 when the world is suppose to end. I figured that would be a fitting time to visit and see all the other old farts there as well.. haha 40 in 2012! Seriously we should have a get together, perhaps get Keith drunk again and draw on his face and body with multiple colored sharpies? Well probably better to use Copic since that can come off easier...lol poor Keith :)

Oh god he is so awesome! I am bummed he didn't make it to the SF signage for MGS4 launch, but wow hopefully he does more of this later on. He has some serious passion about doing voice acting and a good sense of humor. I felt bad on some of the dumb questions that was asked, but he took it like a champ and played along. I need to watch Metal Gear Awesome again!

Please, pretty please on sugar on top, go run out and buy the Gurren-Laggan DVD which is released today! Even tho it is subbed only, it is really worth getting for 9 episode count and the price. I am thinking of getting the LE since it comes with the soundtrack. I can't wait for the premier on SCIFI of the dub later this month. OH WOW Steve Blum as Leeroy.. OMG hahaha!

Bonus: This would be awesome as coffee cups.. guys in ADTRW are awesome!

Ok so every year someone asks me what I want for (insert holiday or special occasion here). I always tell them nothing. Well this year I found something that someone may want to purchase for me for an auspicious occasion in August. Co-ordinate so I don't end up with more than one. You can fight over who gets the honor. Toodles.

I called them and left a voicemail indicating that I quit and that they sucked.

It went amazingly quickly!
2pm: Go to Vivendi Games for an interview. 12 other people there.
4pm: Test and screening complete. All applicants leave.
5:30pm: Cellphone rings. I CAN HAS JOB!
Same day service! Wooooooooooh!!
Even better than dry-cleaning! :D
